The Honda CB is an air-cooledtransversein-line four-cylinder engine motorcycle made by Honda over several generations for year models — as well as with an upright or standard riding posture.
Though other manufacturers had marketed the transverse, overhead camshaftinline four-cylinder engine configuration and the layout had been used in racing engines prior to World War II, Honda popularized the configuration with the CB, and the layout subsequently became the dominant sport bike engine layout. The CB was the first motorcycle to be called a "superbike.
Honda of Japan introduced the CB motorcycle to the US and European markets in after experiencing success with its smaller motorcycles. In the late s Honda motorcycles were, overall, the world's biggest sellers. Profits from these production bikes financed the successful racing machines of the s, and lessons learned from racing were applied to the CB The CB was targeted directly at the US market after Honda officials, including founder Soichiro Hondarepeatedly met US dealers and understood the opportunity for a larger bike.
In American Honda's service manager Bob Hansen flew to Japan and discussed with Soichiro Honda the possibility of using Woxy checker download Prix technology in bikes prepared for American motorcycle events.
Hansen told Soichiro Honda that he should build a 'King of Motorcycles' [ failed verification ] and the CB appeared at the Tokyo Show in November and was publicly launched in UK at the BrightonEngland motorcycle show held at the Metropole Hotel exhibition centre during April with an earlier press-launch at Honda's London headquarters, the pre-production versions appearing with a high and very wide handlebar intended for the US market.
The three Japanese-prepared machines all failed during the race with Mann just holding on to win by a few seconds with a failing engine. They finished in eighth and ninth places.
InJapanese rider Morio Sumiya finished in sixth place in the Daytona Mile race on a factory Under development for a year, the CB had a transverse, straight-four engine with a single overhead camshaft SOHC and a front disc brake, neither of which was previously available on a mainstream, affordable, production motorcycle.
Cycle magazine called the CB, "the most sophisticated production bike ever", on the bike's introduction. The CB was the first modern four-cylinder machine from a mainstream manufacturer, and the term superbike was coined to describe it.
Much-later models from included maintenance-free hydraulic valves. Unable to accurately gauge demand for the new bike, Honda limited its initial investment in the production dies for the CB by using a technique called permanent mold casting often erroneously referred to as sandcasting rather than diecasting for the engines — unsure of the bike's reception. The bike remained in the Honda line up for ten years, with a production total overYear and model code: . Although the two-speed transmission includes a torque converter typical of an automatic transmission, the transmission does not automatically change gears for the rider.
The selected gear remains selected until changed by the rider, or the kickstand is lowered which shifts the transmission to neutral. The design of the transmission is similar in concept to the transmission in Honda's NAT a kei car sold in Japan from to The same oil is used for the engine and transmission, and the engine was changed to a wet sump instead of dry sump type.
A lockout safety device prevents the transmission from moving out of neutral if the side stand is down. There is no tachometer but the instruments include a fuel gauge and gear indicator.
For the gearing was revised, and the exhaust changed to a four-into-two with a silencer on either side. PL Scope. The Shelby Mustang is a high-performance variant of the Ford Mustang which was built by Shelby American from toand from to by Ford. Following the introduction of the fifth generation Ford Mustang inthe Shelby nameplate was revived as a new high-performance model, this time designed and built by Ford.
The — cars were the smallest and lightest of the GT models. These cars are often called "Cobras", which was the Ford-powered AC-based two-seat sports car also produced by Shelby American during the same period.
Both models use the Cobra emblem, similar paint scheme, and the optional "Cobra" valve covers on many GTs that were part of a marketing tie-in by Shelby, as well as one of his iconic symbols. Beginning as a stock Mustang with a 4-speed manual transmission and 9" live rear axlethe cars were shipped to Shelby American, where they received the high-riser manifolds, Tri-Y headers, and were given larger Ford Galaxie rear drum brakes with metallic- linings and Kelsey-Hayes front disc brakes.
The GT was not built for comfort or ease of driving. This trend for more options and luxuries continued in the following years, with the cars becoming progressively larger, heavier, and more comfortable, while losing much of their competitiveness in the process.
Very few GTs were delivered to the dealer with the optional " Le Mans " or "LeMans" top stripes, which run the length of the entire car. Dealers often added the stripes, probably at the customer's request. Many ERT cars had the battery relocated to the trunk, which was changed mid-year from complaints of fumes, and had over-rider traction bars, relocated A-arms, as well as other modifications.
Over-rider traction bars are named so because of their design being on top of the leaf spring as opposed to underneath them. There was only one transmission available, a 4-speed Borg-Warner T10 manual. The exhaust system in the GT was a side-exit dual exhaust with glasspack mufflers. The GT had a full size spare tire mounted in place of rear seats, making it a 2-seat-only vehicle to be allowed to race under SCCA regulations as a "sports car"and rode on either silver-painted steel wheels or special cast-magnesium center "Cragar Shelby" 15" rims with chromed center caps marked with a stylized "CS".
Total model year production was units. Other changes included special rear quarter-panel windows replacing the factory extractor vents, functional brake scoops on each side, and optional SelectShift 3-speed automaticas well as an optional Paxton supercharger. The battery was no longer relocated to the trunk forand the over-rider traction bars were discontinued. The normal factory fold-down rear seat was optional. While early cars had black engine blocks, and later cars had their engines painted the regular factory Ford dark blue.
The models came with a dual-exhaust exiting in the rear. These cars were specifically ordered by Shelby American for conversion into GTs.
Upon delivery to Shelby-American, the cars were randomly picked for conversion. The Ford VINs were shipped in 'blocks,' but many differ significantly because of the order that they were selected for conversion.
Total production for was 1, fastbacks, including two prototypes and four drag cars, and the early production models with Ford Mustang bodies.
In order to help Shelby sales, Ford, the major shareholder of Hertzpersuaded the rental car giant to purchase 1, fastbacks, including two prototypes.
The first 85 Hertz cars were available with four-speed manual transmissions and Hertz advertised them as "Rent-a-Racer" cars.First introduced init is one of the original " wonder nines " and features a staggered-column magazineall-steel construction, and a hammer forged barrel. It is widely distributed throughout the world and is the most common handgun in the Czech Republic.
The armament industry was an important part of the interwar Czechoslovak economy and made up a large part of the country's exports see, for example, Bren light machine gunwhich was a modified version of the Czechoslovak ZB vz. While most other Warsaw Pact countries became dependent on armaments imports from the Soviet Unionmost of the Czechoslovak weaponry remained domestic for example, the Czechoslovak army used the Vz.
They participated to some extent on designing all the company's post-war weapons. Unlike during his previous work, this time he had a complete freedom in designing the whole gun from scratch. The design he developed was in many ways new and innovative see Design details. Although the model was developed for export purposes the standard pistol cartridge of the Czechoslovak armed forces was the Soviet 7. Effectively, nobody could learn about their existence, but also nobody could register the same design in Czechoslovakia.
Consequently, a large number of other manufacturers began offering pistols based on CZ 75 design see Clones, copies, and variants by other manufacturers. The pistol was not sold in Czechoslovakia untilwhen it became popular among sport shooters sport shooting is the third most widespread sport in the Czech Republic, after football and ice hockey . It was adopted by the Czech armed forces only after the Velvet Revolution in Initially, the sport shooters were using CZ 75s and CZ 85s.
This version had a SA triggera muzzle brake and adjustable weights. The design was further modified i. These had a different frame from standard versions allowing for more modifications. While the ST had become very successful, M was not initially designed for use with red-dot sights, the use of which led to limited lifespan of its frame.
The popular ST version was further developed mostly with aim of prolonging its lifespan, which led to introduction of CZ 75 TS Tactical Sports in High-capacity magazines may use either 20 of the 9mm rounds or 17 of the. The CZ 75 is a short recoil operated, locked breech pistol. It uses the Browning linkless cam locking system similar to that used in the Browning Hi-Power pistol, where the barrel and slide are locked together on firing, using locking lugs milled into the barrel mating with recesses in the roof of the slide.
An enclosed cam track integral with the barrel is actuated by the slide release lever's transverse pin. After the first few millimetres of the recoil stroke, the barrel is cammed downwards at the rear, enabling the slide to continue the recoil stroke and eject the spent cartridge.
Most models have the capability of being fired in both single and double-action modes, and feature a frame-mounted manual safety.
Some recent models have a decocking lever that doubles as a manual safety. It should replace the CZ M1S1 model. The bolt is fluted with helical grooves to make the weapon highly durable and reliable in adverse conditions. The bolt handle is adapted for comfortable, reliable and rapid reloading with a riflescope attached, while the trigger mechanism is fully adjustable : you can also select single stage or double stage trigger. The TSR also sports an effective compensator and several MIL-STD rails for the attachment of accessories — there is a short Picatinny rail even on the muzzlebrake for back-up sights.
The adjustable stock can be set to fold to either side. The magazine, fully integrated in the aluminum alloy frame, has a capacity of 10 rounds. For more information please visit CZ website.
